Zhang Chun Hong (b.1971) is Chinese-born female artist living in the Unites States. She graduated from the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing in 1994 and from the University of California Davis in 2004.
Her work incorporates traditional techniques with contemporary notions. Mostly based on the representation of human hair, her paintings start as a personal exploration into her own identity, both as a human being and as a Chinese woman, and subsequently extend to universal themes, examining women’s complete life cycles.
Zhang Chun Hong’s work can be found in prominent collections such as the DSL in Paris, The White Rabbit in Sydney and the Spencer Museum of Art in Lawrence Kansas.
