We have deep, long-term relationships with elite emerging and established contemporary Chinese artists. We work with masters such as the Gao Brothers, Qu Lei Lei and Qin Feng, to name a few. We are ever-expanding our network of phenomenal emerging and mid-career talent and work with artists such as Lu Xinjian, Pan Jian and Zhuang Hong Yi, amongst many others.

Position Details

These are the tasks you'll be taking care of:

  • online sales

  • cold calls

  • personal calls

  • reaching out to new trade clients

  • the business of high-end art

  • managing creative projects

  • China (the role may involve travel to China)

  • art content writing

  • networking at events

  • finding PR opportunities

  • sourcing venues to host pop up shows

  • creating strategic partnerships with galleries

  • representing Hua internationally

Mao Lizi

The business is relatively young so it's likely that some of these tasks will evolve and some may be dropped. We expect you to be flexible with different tasks and always have a positive attitude in managing anything that is requested, even if not part of the list above.

We expect you to be working autonomously and looking for new opportunities to grow the business yourself.

You'll be directly trained by both Dagmar Carnevale Lavezzoli and Jay Bowles. Dagmar is Co-Owner and Director of Art Advisory, she is a contemporary Chinese art specialist with over a decade of experience in the field. Jay is Co-Owner and Director of Operations, who has led the relaunch of the business. He has over a decade of experience founding digital technology businesses and has core competencies in product development, marketing, operations and cryptocurrency.

We need somebody who has 5 hours of working overlap with our working day in the UK or sometimes in Italy. But apart from that you're welcome to work from wherever you like.

Position Outline

Essential

  • strong sales experience in a gallery or in luxury
  • great sales and communication skills, loyalty as well as hands-on mentality and a proactive work ethic
  • honest, reliable and trustworthy behaviour
  • ability to work on your own
  • passion for providing excellent customer service
  • a results-orientated way of working and an entrepreneurial spirit
  • meet and exceed sales targets
  • strong affinity for art and luxury
  • interest in learning about contemporary Chinese art
  • polished English language skills – both written and spoken
  • we're based mostly in London and Italy, Central European Time. You can be based wherever you want, but we need to have at least 5 hours of overlap in the working day.

Desirable
